The Chaffey Community Museum of Art (CCMA) announces the second annual Steve Thomas Photography Open, to be held July 24 to October 18, 2026. This exhibition presents a dynamic selection of artwork that celebrates how local photographers use the medium to express their creative visions. The exhibition will be curated by photo historian Timothy LeBlanc.
Call For Entries
The Chaffey Community Museum of Art (CCMA) is seeking photographic artists to participate in the Steve Thomas Photography Open, to be held July 24th to October 18th, 2026 at CCMA. This exhibition will present a dynamic selection of artwork that celebrates photographers use of the medium to express their creative vision. The exhibition will be curated by photo historian Timothy LeBlanc.
Eligibility:
Artists 18 years of age and older are eligible and must live in the Inland Empire or eastern portion of Los Angeles County. The three highest-ranked photographers will receive a cash prize.
How to Enter:
Entries will only be accepted via online application (www.chaffeymuseum.org) beginning 4/24/2026. The application consists of an entry form, artist bio and statement, and a digital image (.jpg) of each artwork. Photographers may submit up to two works of art for consideration.
Entries must be received by 5 pm on Sunday June 21st, 2026. There is a fee of $25 to enter, which is waived for CCMA members.
A jury panel will select the photographs for the exhibit and notify the winners by June 28th, 2026. The three highest-ranked photographers will receive a cash prize.
Artwork Specifications:
Photographs must be the original creation of the photographer. Images created entirely by AI will not be accepted but photographic images that engage with AI in nuanced ways may be submitted for consideration. Please include AI in the medium details of the work submitted.
Photographs must be framed and ready to hang, properly wired with D-rings. No sawtooth hangers or eye screws will be accepted.

Requirements Following Acceptance:
Artwork selected for the exhibition must be delivered to CCMA, 217 S. Lemon St., Ontario, CA between 7/16/26-7/19/26. Following the exhibition, the artist is responsible for picking up artwork within two weeks or it will be deemed abandoned.
Photographers must sign a CCMA loan agreement.
Other:
CCMA’s collection insurance covers loss of artwork while on exhibit.
CCMA reserves the right to edit the artist biography and artist statement.
